If you’ve visited this blog before, then you know I’m a big proponent of networking. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned pro making contacts for future opportunities, networking is one of the best ways to ensure you’re set up for career success.
But while I firmly believe in networking, I can also take a step back and enjoy a good laugh when someone pokes a little fun at the concept. Case in point: this classic Kids in the Hall sketch! This is obviously an exaggerated gag on how people “schmooze” – but there’s actually some good learning from it (based on what these guys don’t do)! Have something valuable to say about yourself, be sincere, and have good questions ready to ask of people who may one day help you on your career journey!
Okay, I do have to give them credit for one good piece of advice: always take a business card!
