Keep The Glass Half Full!

When looking for a new job or a better career, it’s definitely a challenge to look at the glass half full – which is exactly what you should challenge yourself to do!

If not careful, you’ll fall into victim mode. This is especially easy if things aren’t going as you hoped or planned. But the only thing choosing to be negative does is allow you to feel sorry for yourself. At the end of the day, that doesn’t help you find a real solution.

Chances are if you look at the history of a successful leader, they had some tough times, be it failing an elections, getting looked over for a promotion, losing their job, etc. Heck, Michael Jordan didn’t even make his high school basketball team at first! But if you talked to any of these leaders today, they will most always tell you that, although it wasn’t easy, they were determined to continue on even when the chips were down.

The faster we embrace the bumps in the road and see it as part of the journey, the faster we will reach our destination!

I came across this article today that gives great tangible advice in regards to looking at the glass half full. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!

When an achievement is attained too easily the victory is not as exhilarating as an achievement after a protracted struggle.

You’re right, Vicky. Staying positive and achieving something after a hard go at it is so rewarding!

    Good thought.

It’s a good idea to stop,…..and take a good look at your attitude. It can easily slip to an unattractive place. Take a look at your glass every once in a while and make sure it is half full. View it from a different angle if it looks half empty.

    Great perspective, Richard!
