Leave it to me to blog about blogging!

But I want to raise your awareness around the power of blogging, especially since it often gets left out of the discussion about “best digital tools for your career” because of Twitter, Linkedin and Facebook.

Whether you’re a job seeker, a professional looking to better prove your expertise in an industry or category, or you want to promote your small business or Fortune 500 company, blogging can be an invaluable tool.

But don’t just take it from me. This article from the Harvard Business Revue spells out exactly why blogging shouldn’t be overlooked in your career. I especially loved this line:

Indeed, if you want to shape public opinion, you need to be the one creating the narrative.

It’s true in any industry, and a blog gives you the long-form platform to do just that. And of course, you can still promote your blog posts on Twitter, Linkedin, etc.!
